What will I study on a wildlife and conservation degree?

You will study a range of topics designed to develop your understanding of animals, habitats and conservation methods. Modules may include wildlife identification and management, behavioural ecology, animal husbandry, conservation education, ecology and environmental management.

Will I gain practical experience as part of the course?

Yes. The course includes practical learning opportunities, work experience and field-based activities designed to help you apply your knowledge in real conservation and animal management environments. Students may also have opportunities to take part in field research activities.

What careers can I pursue after studying wildlife and conservation?

Graduates can progress into careers within wildlife conservation, ecological consultancy, animal management, conservation education, habitat management and related environmental sectors. The skills gained can also support progression to further study.

Do I need previous experience working with animals or wildlife?

Previous experience is useful but not essential. A passion for wildlife, an interest in protecting the natural world and a willingness to learn are key starting points. The course is designed to help you develop both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for the sector.

Over the course of the trip, the students are exposed to many different game reserve areas to give them an idea of conservation through an educational experience.
