What are Vocational Courses
Vocational courses are practical, career-focused programmes that help learners develop the skills, knowledge and experience needed for a specific job or industry. Unlike traditional academic courses that often focus mainly on theory, vocational courses combine classroom learning with hands-on training, allowing students to apply what they learn in realistic workplace settings. They are designed to prepare learners for employment, apprenticeships or further education by providing industry-relevant qualifications and practical experience.
Vocational courses are available across a wide range of sectors, including engineering, construction, health and social care, childcare, hospitality, creative industries, digital, automotive, beauty and many more. They are suitable for school leavers, adults looking to gain new skills, or anyone wanting to change career direction. By completing a vocational course, learners can build confidence, improve employability and gain the qualifications needed to progress into their chosen career pathway.
