At East Coast College, your future matters. Whether you're studying on campus or completing an apprenticeship, we're here to help you explore your options, make informed decisions and achieve your career goals.

Our careers programme is embedded throughout your time at college, giving you access to expert careers information, advice and guidance whenever you need it. From your first day to your next step after college, we're here to support your progression.

Careers support throughout your course

Your teacher, Careers Advisor, Student Achievement Mentor, or Apprenticeship Assessor will work with you throughout your course to help you develop your skills, explore opportunities and plan your future. You'll receive careers education through tutorials, one-to-one guidance and personalised support.

Apprentices access careers development through OneFile activities, tutorials and support from their employer and assessor. Students studying away from campus can also access careers resources through Moodle and receive advice from our friendly Careers Team by phone, email or online.

• Explore your progression options, including further study, university, apprenticeships, training and employment.
• Create a professional CV and job applications.
• Prepare for interviews with guidance and mock interview practice.
• Apply for Higher Education courses and vocational training.
• Find the right work placement alongside our Placement Team.
• Research careers, labour market information and employment opportunities.
• Develop a personalised career action plan and identify your next steps.

There are lots of ways to access careers advice and guidance during your time at East Coast College, including:

• One-to-one appointments, either in person, by telephone, online or by email.
• Drop-in sessions with Careers Advisor
• The Careers and Wellbeing Tutorial Programme.
• Careers and Progression resources available on Moodle.
• Employer talks and industry guest speakers.
• Careers fairs and employer events throughout the year.
• University and training provider visits.
• Virtual careers events and online resources.
• Support from teaching staff with specialist industry knowledge.
