Our latest Ofsted report, published on 10 February 2025, recognises the significant strengths of East Coast College and our commitment to providing high-quality education, training and support for every learner.
Inspectors praised the college's strong leadership, high-quality teaching, inclusive learning environment and well-planned curriculum, highlighting the positive experiences and outcomes achieved by students, apprentices and adult learners.
The report recognises the college's commitment to helping learners achieve their goals through experienced teaching staff, industry-relevant learning and a supportive environment where students can develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed.
Ofsted highlighted the substantial improvements made to our apprenticeship provision. Apprentices benefit from access to industry-standard facilities and equipment, enabling them to develop valuable workplace skills and apply their learning confidently in real-world settings.
The inspection also recognised the positive impact of our support for students with high needs. Learners develop essential life skills that help prepare them for adulthood and become valued members of workplace teams. The report noted that most supported interns successfully progress into employment.
Our adult learning programmes were also praised for the difference they make to learners' lives, particularly our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses and Welding Bootcamps. Inspectors highlighted the confidence gained by learners studying ESOL, with many now feeling able to communicate more confidently with their child's teacher, speak to their doctor and manager at work, and participate more fully in everyday life.
We are proud of the recognition received from Ofsted and remain committed to continuously improving the experience and outcomes for all our learners.
