Our Adult Drawing short course is designed for adults who want to develop their artistic skills, explore their creativity and build confidence in drawing and painting. Whether you are completely new to art or returning to a previous interest, this course provides a supportive and inspiring environment to develop your practical skills and creative practice.

Throughout the course, you will explore a wide range of artistic techniques, materials and processes, developing your understanding of drawing, painting, colour theory and design principles. You will investigate both traditional observational drawing and more experimental approaches through a variety of engaging and creative themes, while learning about influential artists and art movements that will inform and inspire your own work.

You will benefit from access to specialist art and design facilities across both campuses, including printmaking studios, ceramics workshops, photographic studios and 3D workshop spaces. These professional learning environments will enable you to experiment with different disciplines and produce a varied portfolio of artwork that reflects your developing skills and creativity.

The course is designed to encourage creative exploration while building the fundamental artistic knowledge and technical abilities needed for further study or personal development. You will receive guidance and support from experienced tutors as you develop your confidence, refine your techniques and discover your own artistic style.

By the end of the course, you will have produced a portfolio of work demonstrating your progress and creative development, providing a strong foundation for progression to further art and design education or continued independent artistic practice.
