This course is designed to help learners develop their understanding of the fundamental principles and processes of photography. You will explore key photographic techniques and learn how to edit and manipulate images to enhance your creative work.

Throughout the course, you will develop practical skills, build confidence using photographic equipment and software, and gain a deeper understanding of how images can be created and transformed.

Alongside your lessons, you will receive individual tutorials and careers guidance sessions to support your learning and help you plan your next steps.

Course Information


A sufficient understanding of maths and English Language is needed to cope with the demands of the course. All students will undertake diagnostic assessment to assess these skills during the course interview or induction process and you will be required to demonstrate that you can work at Level 1. Please note: you must have a good level of computer skills to be able to undertake this course.


Formative assessment will take place throughout the course with a final portfolio of imagery being completed by the end of the course.


You can progress on to a range of other qualifications at Level 1 or above.
