Please note, this course is only accepting applications from learners aged 16 - 18, as well as those up to the age of 25 who hold a current EHCP.
This course is ideal for learners who are passionate about exploring visual ideas and brand communication across a wide range of media and platforms.
You will be encouraged to respond to real-world problems and industry-style briefs through research, creative thinking, and the use of both digital and traditional design processes. Projects are rooted in visual communication and supported by practical workshops covering areas such as graphic design, typography, illustration, concept art, compositing, and motion graphics.
Throughout the course, you will develop the skills and knowledge needed for progression into the creative and digital industries. In your second year, you will have the opportunity to choose a specialist pathway aligned with your career ambitions or intended university progression route. This will support you in building a diverse and professional digital portfolio that demonstrates your creativity, technical ability, and understanding of visual language.
Although the course focuses strongly on digital practice, you will also explore traditional techniques including drawing, printmaking, photography, and mixed media. These methods are used to develop and communicate initial ideas, concepts, and design intentions.
