This course is £453, however, fee remission may be available subject to your personal circumstances and residency requirements (for non UK Nationals).

This course is designed for students who want to develop and strengthen their creative writing skills. Throughout the course, students will explore the key differences between fiction and non-fiction, learn how to use personal experiences and creative stimuli as inspiration, and develop the ability to write with purpose and meaning.

Students will also learn how to plan and produce effective drafts, improve their proofreading and editing skills, and adapt their writing style for a range of different audiences and purposes.

Alongside the formal lessons, students will benefit from individual tutorials and careers advice sessions throughout the course, providing additional guidance and support to help them progress and achieve their goals.

Course Information


A sufficient understanding of maths and English Language is needed to cope with the demands of the course. All students will undertake a diagnostic assessment to assess these skills during the course interview or induction process, and you will be required to demonstrate that you can work at Level 1.


Formative assessment will take place throughout the course with a final portfolio of evidence produced at the end. There are no examinations on this course.


You can progress on to a range of other qualifications at Level 1 or above.

On this course, you will study a range of creative writing techniques and explore the different forms and purposes of writing. You will learn about the differences between fiction and non-fiction, develop ideas using personal experiences and creative stimuli, and experiment with writing for meaning and impact. The course will also cover planning, drafting, editing, and proofreading, helping you to develop your ability to create polished pieces of writing for a variety of audiences and purposes. Through lessons, individual tutorials, and careers guidance, you will build confidence in your writing skills and develop your own creative voice.
