The Close Protection course provides learners with the specialist skills and knowledge required to work as a Close Protection Operative within the private security industry. Modules include threat assessment, risk management, surveillance, protective planning, defensive tactics, vehicle protection, first aid, conflict management, legal responsibilities, and workplace safety. The course includes a Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection Operatives, alongside additional qualifications in mental health first aid, employability, substance misuse awareness, and workplace violence and harassment. Successful completion prepares learners for roles protecting clients such as VIPs, executives, and other high-profile individuals.

The Close Protection course covers key skills required to work in the private security industry, including threat assessment, risk management, surveillance, protective operations, conflict management, defensive skills, first aid, legal responsibilities, communication, and emergency response. Learners will develop the knowledge and practical abilities needed to plan and deliver effective protection for individuals in a range of security environments. The course also includes employability skills, mental health awareness, substance misuse awareness, and workplace safety training, preparing learners for professional roles as Close Protection Operatives.


The course is classroom based with a range of practical assessments including embus/debus, risk assessments, reconnaissance activity, physical intervention and surveillance
