You will study in our modern, well-equipped fabrication and welding workshops and academy, where learning is delivered through a strong combination of practical, hands-on training and supporting theoretical knowledge. The facilities are designed to reflect real industry environments, helping you build confidence and competence using current tools, techniques and processes.
Alongside your studies, you will have the chance to take part in valuable work experience opportunities with established employers. Previous students have completed placements with companies such as Lotus Cars, as well as benefiting from site visits and summer internship programmes. Many former learners have also gained recognition through the City & Guilds Foundation Awards, with others achieving success in national competition finals.
Our teaching team brings extensive industry experience, with lecturers who are qualified welders and maintain strong professional links with relevant governing bodies. This ensures your training is current, relevant and aligned with employer expectations.
You will train at our Welding Academy based at the Great Yarmouth campus, using industry-standard equipment and working towards TWI certification. We also actively support learners in securing industrial placements with local employers such as Armultra and Lotus Cars, many of which can lead directly to full-time employment opportunities.
