Please note, this course is only accepting applications from learners aged 16 - 18, as well as those up to the age of 25 who hold a current EHCP.

Our Travel and Tourism course is designed for aspiring industry professionals who want to develop the practical skills, knowledge and experience needed for a successful career within the fast-growing travel and tourism sector. Combining hands-on training with industry insight, this course provides the foundation needed to progress into a wide range of roles, including resort representative, travel consultant, airline cabin crew and other customer-focused careers.

Throughout the course, you will explore key areas of the travel industry while developing essential skills in customer service, destination knowledge and tourism operations. You will gain valuable employability skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving and interview preparation, helping you build the confidence needed for a successful career.

You will benefit from realistic training environments, including a mock travel agency and aircraft cabin, where you can develop practical experience and gain an understanding of what it is like to work in the industry. The course also offers opportunities to learn industry-standard systems, including Amadeus, a leading booking and reservation platform used by airlines, travel agents and tour operators worldwide.

As part of your studies, you will gain real-world experience through work placements, simulations, masterclasses and visits with industry partners. Strong links with organisations such as ATPI Business Travel, The Co-operative Travel, Norwich Aviation Academy, SaxonAir, Titan Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Skypeople help ensure your learning reflects current industry practices and career opportunities.

You will also have the opportunity to take part in overseas visits, volunteering experiences and industry trips that broaden your understanding of global tourism. Previous students have participated in international projects such as volunteering in Vietnam, with opportunities to apply for internships in Florida after completing the course.

This course will help you develop the confidence, technical knowledge and practical experience needed to progress into employment, further study or specialist training within the travel and tourism industry.

Course Information


Level 2: achieved at least a grade 2 or above in English and maths.

Level 3: achieved a travel and tourism qualification at school, and/or have a good standard of English and maths. Ideally grade 4 and above in English and maths or working towards.

A full British or European passport will be required for oversea trips. (Please note that trips are not mandatory but encouraged).


The course is assessed by a range of methods including: Reports, Presentations, Case studies, Role plays, Online assessments and Portfolio of work


You can progress into Higher Education courses such as International Tourism Management, Tourism and Aviation Management and Sustainable Tourism development at a range of universities.


You will study key areas of travel and tourism, including customer service, career preparation, the UK tourism industry, destinations, responsible tourism and the roles and responsibilities of resort representatives. These modules will help you develop the knowledge, skills and industry understanding needed for a successful career in the sector.
