The healthcare sector is one of the UK's fastest-growing industries, offering a wide range of rewarding career opportunities where you can make a real difference to people's lives. This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to begin a successful career in healthcare.

You will be taught by experienced tutors with extensive industry knowledge who will support you in developing the technical expertise and professional behaviours expected within the healthcare sector. Throughout the course, you will build a strong understanding of person-centred care, infection prevention and control, good scientific and clinical practice, health and safety, and the safe management of information and data. You will also develop knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, diseases and disorders, standard operating procedures, equipment management, stock control and quality standards.

Practical learning is at the heart of the course. You will train in our purpose-built clinical care suite, designed to replicate a hospital ward, where you will develop the skills and confidence needed to carry out a range of clinical tasks in a realistic healthcare environment before progressing into the workplace.

We have strong partnerships with local NHS trusts and healthcare providers, giving you access to a substantial industry placement of at least 315 hours in hospitals and other clinical settings. Working alongside experienced healthcare professionals, you will apply your learning in real-world environments, gain valuable industry experience and develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours employers are looking for.

Following the Specialist Nursing and Allied Health Professional pathway, you will develop the practical skills required to support healthcare teams in adult nursing settings while gaining an insight into the diverse range of careers available across the health sector.
