This qualification is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of stroke, including its types, symptoms, and the necessary emergency response. This qualification aims to upskill the workforce in stroke care in order to improve services to meet the projected outcomes of the National Stroke Strategy for England.
You will gain knowledge about the changes in the brain associated with stroke, how to recognise stroke symptoms, and the importance of timely medical intervention. The course also covers risk factors, management strategies, and support systems available for individuals affected by stroke.
There are no specific learning requirements. You will require appropriate level of literacy and willingness to complete the assessment criteria.
This is a knowledge-only qualification assessed through a portfolio of evidence, covering 1 unit of work that is to be completed in your own time and requires some further reading.
This qualification supports progression to further study in health and social care and enhances employment opportunities.
