The Offshore Wind Vessel Support Crew Skills Bootcamp prepares learners for entry-level roles within the offshore wind and marine support sectors. The course combines practical training with industry-standard safety qualifications, covering vessel operations, crew transfer procedures, deck operations, emergency response, and essential maritime skills. Learners will gain recognised training including STCW, Slinger/Banksman, AEC1, ENG1 Medical, Navigational Watch, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Food Hygiene, and Fire Training. Designed with industry input, the five-week programme helps develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to work safely and effectively on offshore support vessels, with successful completion leading to a guaranteed employer interview opportunity.

This bootcamp is supported by local employers who will interview you at the end of the course for a role as a Deckhand


The Offshore Wind Vessel Support Crew Skills Bootcamp is structured around a range of industry-focused modules designed to develop the practical skills and safety knowledge required for offshore vessel operations. Learners will complete training in STCW Basic Safety, crew transfer procedures, deck operations, emergency response, navigational watch, Slinger/Banksman operations, and marine engineering awareness through AEC1. Additional modules include ENG1 Medical, Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Fire Training, and Food Hygiene, providing a comprehensive foundation for roles within offshore wind logistics, vessel support, and marine operations.


This course includes a range of practical training and theory based work.


To obtain a place on this course, you will be invited to a selection process prior to the course starting. This will assess a range of aptitudes and will ascertain whether you are eligible and suitable for the course. Once you have submitted an application, you will be required to complete a health questionnaire and undertake a health check with your GP before you attend the selection days. Please note that for some of the course elements, there is a maximum weight limit of 120kg and a waist size limit of 120cm. Some of the training occurs offsite so you will need access to transport.
