The Level 1 Numeracy course is part of Gateway Qualifications' Suite of Progression Qualifications. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. It is open to learners of all ages who wish to improve their numeracy skills.


Assessment is portfolio-based and internally verified. You must demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit. Evidence may include:

  • Written assignments
  • Practical tasks
  • Tutor observations
  • Worksheets

Qualifications provide vocational taster which aids future career decisions & progression opportunities to employment or further study. You may progress to Level 2 qualifications or sector-specific training programmes.
