Course Information

You will need to be working in a lead adult care worker role with adults in a health and social care setting. You will also need to possess a reasonable level of literacy and numeracy skills.

You will be assessed using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task.

You can progress into employment in residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres or some clinical healthcare settings within job roles such as:

  • Senior Care Support Worker
  • Lead Personal Assistant

Throughout this qualification, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively as a Lead Adult Care Worker. You will study a range of topics including person-centred care, supporting individuals with their physical and emotional needs, promoting independence and wellbeing, safeguarding, communication, health and safety, and following professional care procedures. The course will also cover how to support individuals with their daily living needs, understand health and social care practices, and provide high-quality care that respects each person's choices, dignity, and rights.
