Are you interested in developing your understanding of how to support and help others effectively? Would you like to learn more about the causes of stress, how to manage it, and ways to prevent or reduce its impact? These courses also provide the opportunity to increase your awareness of different mental health conditions and develop a better understanding of wellbeing and support.

The available courses include:

  • Level 1 Award in Stress Awareness
  • Level 2 Award in Helping Skills
  • Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness

All courses are delivered online, offering flexible learning that can fit around your personal and professional commitments. There are no exams, and you can choose to complete all three courses or select the individual course that best meets your interests and development needs.

Course Information


We will use Microsoft Teams, students will need a camera/mic facility.


There will be workbooks to complete and will be submitted digitally OR can pick up and drop off hard copies at either of our campuses


You can prepare to progress into a role in which helping skills are used and be ready to take on qualifications at a higher level, (including our Foundation degree in Social Welfare, Advice & Guidance or the Foundation Degree in Additional Support Needs) by taking one or more of the above qualifications.


This course helps you to develop skills and knowledge to support others effectively, understand stress and mental health, and promote wellbeing. It covers stress awareness, helping skills, and mental health awareness through flexible online courses with no exams.
