The Level 3 Introduction to Teaching and Training in the Further Education Sector is an introductory qualification designed for those considering a career in teaching or for individuals who are already involved in teaching or training learners aged 16 and above.

This course provides a strong foundation in the principles and practices of effective teaching and training. You will explore how good teaching practice can support learning and personal development, while developing the skills and knowledge needed to plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions across a range of educational and training settings.

Course Information

To enrol on this course, candidates should have, or be working towards, a Level 3 qualification in the subject area they wish to teach, or have relevant industry experience. You should also be able to organise and present written information clearly and effectively. There is no requirement to complete teaching practice, as this course is suitable for both those preparing to enter teaching and those already working in a teaching or training role.

You will demonstrate learning in a variety of contexts including a 15 minute micro-teach to your fellow students.

By undertaking this qualification, you will open up avenues for enhancing your professional growth within the field of education and training. Successful completion of the Level 3 Introduction to Teaching and Training in the Further Education Sector can pave the way for further advancement, such as pursuing the Level 5 Certificate in Education or the Level 6 Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
