The hospitality industry offers a wide range of exciting career opportunities, with skilled food and beverage professionals in demand across restaurants, hotels, bars, cafés and the wider leisure sector. This course is designed to equip you with the practical skills, industry knowledge and confidence needed to begin a successful career in hospitality.

You will be taught by experienced hospitality professionals who will help you develop the technical skills and professional behaviours expected within the industry. Throughout the course, you will learn how to prepare restaurant and bar areas for service, deliver excellent customer experiences using a range of professional service styles, and maintain the high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety required in hospitality. You will also develop practical skills in preparing and serving soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, wines and cocktails, alongside barista training.

Practical learning is at the heart of the course. You will gain hands-on experience in our popular East Restaurant, working in a realistic commercial environment where you will build the confidence and professionalism needed to deliver outstanding front of house service.

Alongside your practical training, you will develop valuable employability skills, including teamwork, communication, organisation and problem solving, while exploring sustainability, cultural diversity and wellbeing in the workplace.

We work closely with local hospitality employers to provide valuable work experience opportunities, allowing you to apply your learning in real-world settings and build industry connections. You will also have the opportunity to develop introductory cookery skills, providing a strong foundation for progression onto further hospitality and catering courses, apprenticeships or employment.
