Please note, this course is only accepting applications from learners aged 16 - 18, as well as those up to the age of 25 who hold a current EHCP.

This course is designed for those who are interested in pursuing a career in the construction industry but do not yet meet the entry requirements for our Level 1 construction trade programmes.

It provides an excellent introduction to the construction sector, helping you develop the practical skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to progress onto further study or training. Alongside hands-on learning, you will strengthen your English and maths skills, preparing you for both the workplace and future qualifications.

As part of the course, you will also study essential health and safety principles, giving you an understanding of safe working practices and the responsibilities of working within the construction industry.

You will gain practical experience across a range of construction trades, including painting and decorating, plastering, and plumbing, allowing you to explore different career pathways while developing valuable workshop skills.

Course Information


You do not need any formal qualifications to apply for this course. All you need is a genuine interest in the construction industry, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude towards developing new skills.

As part of the application process, you will be invited to attend an informal interview with one of our course tutors. This gives you the opportunity to discuss your interests, career goals, and ensure the course is the right fit for you.


Assessment is through practical, theory and online examinations.


You can progress through the levels of our Construction courses before moving into an apprenticeship or employment.

You will need to wear work boots and trousers for your practical sessions. If you require support with these costs, you may be able to apply for assistance through the student bursary.
