This course is designed for those who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in children's lives through early education and care. You will develop a strong foundation in child development, play-based learning, safeguarding, supporting additional needs, and international approaches to early years education. These key areas will prepare you to positively influence the wellbeing, learning, and life chances of children and families.
You will learn in our specialist simulated nursery environments, The Hive and The Nest, which provide a safe, realistic setting to practise professional skills before undertaking real-world placements. With a licence to practise embedded into the course and expert guidance from dedicated Workplace Assessors, you will build the confidence and competence needed to support children during their most critical early years of brain development and emotional wellbeing.
The course also offers a strong global perspective. Through opportunities such as the Turing Scheme, many students take part in international placements, with recent experiences in countries including Italy and New Zealand. These experiences allow you to explore how different cultures approach early years education and discover new ways to help children thrive.
