This course provides a progression route for students completing the FdSc Practical Life Sciences (or other relevant foundation degree in biological or laboratory science) wishing to build their skills, knowledge and understanding further to progress into the laboratory science sector.

You will study a range of laboratory linked modules and will complete your studies by completing a sector relevant project. The areas of study will provide a strong subject base and practical competence for either seeking related employment, progression within your current employment or going on to further study at level 7. You can access this programme either as a stand alone progression year degree course or through the Laboratory Scientist Degree Apprenticeship, where supported by an employer.

Course Information


A relevant Foundation degree such as FdSc Practical Life Science/Level 5 Science Technician apprenticeship or equivalent. All applicants are required to hold GCSE English, maths and science at grade 4 or above. Applicants who do not hold these qualifications may be considered on an individual basis based upon their overall application and the course applied for.
