Fee remission may be available subject to your personal circumstances and residency requirements (for non UK Nationals). The Level 1 course is £192 and Level 2 is £300 if you do not qualify for funding.

We are now offering two British Sign Language (BSL) courses: Level 1 and Level 2. Each course runs for approximately 30 weeks, providing the opportunity either to learn the basics of British Sign Language or to build on your existing knowledge.

Throughout the course, you will learn key communication skills, including how to introduce yourself, greet others in BSL, use fingerspelling for people and places, and sign numbers relating to people, time, money, and dates. Level 2 is designed for learners who already have some knowledge of BSL and wish to develop their skills further.

To achieve the final assessment successfully, you will need to commit to attending each lesson, as regular participation is essential for developing the required skills.

Places on these courses are limited. To express your interest, please contact adultlearning@eastcoast.ac.uk.

Course Information

A sufficient understanding of maths and English language is required to meet the demands of the course. You will need to demonstrate that you are able to work at Level 1 standard before starting the course.

Formative assessment will take place throughout the course with a final filmed assessment at the end of the course.

We offer a range of other adult qualifications and short courses. Please contact adultlearning@eastcoast.ac.uk for more information.
