This course provides delegates with an exciting opportunity to explore a new and increasingly popular pedagogical approach to teaching and learning, while gaining the skills and confidence to deliver effective Beach School programmes.
Throughout the course, delegates will investigate the history and ethos of Beach Schools and explore their development from both national and international perspectives. Participants will develop an understanding of coastal ecosystems and learn how this unique natural environment can be used as a valuable resource to support children's holistic development.
The course will also explore the benefits of Beach School activities in supporting children's personal, social and emotional development, with a focus on promoting inclusive practice. Delegates will develop a range of practical skills suitable for Beach School delivery, alongside an understanding of health and safety requirements. They will also learn how to plan, implement and reflect on engaging and effective Beach School sessions.
This is a one-day course running from 9.30am to 4.00pm, with a cost of £150 per delegate. The course will be delivered at either the Lowestoft or Great Yarmouth campus at East Coast College.
Bespoke Beach School programmes can also be designed to meet the specific needs of your setting. These can be tailored for both staff and children and delivered in-house at a time that is convenient for you.
