This exciting and contemporary qualification aims to provide you with the specialist knowledge around the current thinking about the various causes of crime and how society can manage it.
You will be equipped with the skills needed for understanding and applying theories, concepts and ideas to what you see going on around you and in the wider world. The course explores the links between politics, poverty, inequality, mental illness, anti-social behaviour and criminal justice, and the shaping of public opinion in these areas, to better prepare you for a career in a range of potential areas in the criminal justice system or allied welfare roles.
Whilst this is a full-time course, typically this course generally only requires 1-2 days on campus attendance, supported by self-directed study. This means you can continue to work alongside your studies and balance other commitments.
