This course is £345, however, fee remission may be available subject to your personal circumstances and residency requirements (for non UK Nationals).

You will develop the essential skills, knowledge, and practical understanding required to complete the manual bookkeeping activities that form the foundation of accountancy and finance roles. Throughout the course, you will learn how financial transactions are recorded and processed using the double-entry bookkeeping system, gaining confidence in working with key accounting documents, books, and ledgers. You will study how to accurately record transactions, make appropriate entries, and complete essential bookkeeping tasks, including calculating sales invoices and credit notes. The course will also introduce you to the role of digital accounting systems and how technology is increasingly automating parts of the bookkeeping process while maintaining the importance of accurate financial information. By completing this qualification, you will build the core bookkeeping skills needed for further study and progression, including moving on to Level 3 Bookkeeping.

Course Information


There are no formal entry requirements for this course; however, learners should have a good level of Maths and English to support their understanding of the subject content and completion of course activities. All applicants will be required to complete a diagnostic assessment to ensure the course is suitable for their current skills and learning needs.


Assessments are online timed assessments.


You can progress on to study AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting


You will study the key principles and practices of manual bookkeeping, developing the skills needed to accurately record and manage financial transactions. The course modules will cover the double-entry bookkeeping system, the use of accounting documents, maintaining books and ledgers, processing sales invoices and credit notes, and ensuring accuracy when recording financial information. You will also explore how digital accounting systems support and automate elements of the bookkeeping process, helping you understand the connection between traditional bookkeeping methods and modern finance practices.
