Overview

Our Performing Arts course is designed for students who are passionate about performance and want to develop skills for careers in the creative industries. The course provides specialist training in acting, dance and singing, helping learners build confidence, creativity and practical performance abilities. Students explore a variety of performance styles and genres, develop vocal and acting techniques, and work on material suitable for auditions and future progression.

Alongside performance skills, students have opportunities to gain experience in production and technical theatre, including areas such as scenic design, lighting and sound. The course includes practical projects, performance opportunities, industry workshops and visits to professional productions, helping learners understand the expectations of the performing arts sector. Students can progress to higher education, specialist drama schools or careers in performance, directing, choreography, teaching and arts production.

Performing Arts FAQs


You will study a range of performing arts disciplines including acting, dance and singing. You will develop performance techniques, voice skills, movement skills and explore different drama styles and genres while working towards live performances and practical projects.


Previous experience is helpful but not essential. Applicants are invited to complete an audition, and the course is designed to help students develop their existing talents while building new skills and confidence.


Students benefit from facilities including an in-house theatre and dance studio, as well as opportunities to attend professional productions and take part in workshops with industry practitioners.


After completing the course, students can progress to university, specialist stage schools or employment within the creative industries. Possible career routes include acting, directing, choreography, teaching, arts administration and performance production.
