East Coast College offers a range of health-focused programmes including Health & Social Care courses at Level 2 and Level 3, a Level 3 T Level in Health, and Applied Medical and Health Science. These courses support progression into healthcare careers and further education.


No previous healthcare experience is required. The courses are designed to help you build your knowledge and practical skills from the foundations, covering key areas such as communication, wellbeing, healthcare practice and supporting individuals with different needs.


Health courses may include practical sessions and work placements where professional standards of dress are expected. Students should be prepared to follow any uniform or clothing requirements provided by the course team, particularly when taking part in healthcare-related activities or placements.


Health courses can lead to many careers within the care and health sectors, including roles in nursing, social care, support work and other healthcare professions. They can also provide a pathway to university study in subjects such as nursing, social work, psychology and health-related degrees.

Our mock hospital suite provides a realistic clinical learning environment where students develop essential healthcare knowledge, practical skills and professional confidence through hands-on experience. Designed to reflect a real hospital setting, the ward enables students to practice patient care, clinical procedures, communication skills and teamwork while exploring areas such as health assessment, nursing techniques, medical observations and compassionate care as part of their specialist training.
